IT WAS 1966, JOHN WARDEN

JOHN WARDEN, Niagra Falls native, had graduated from Parsons in New York in 1963. He had been "found" in New York by "MONTREAL FASHION WRITER IONA MONAHAN", and brought back to Canada to work for "MONTEAL MANUFACTURER AUCKIE SANFT" in 1964. By the time the following article from The Gazette (Montreal) was published, Warden had won several Canadian Fashion Awards, and had become recognized as "THE" CANADIAN DESIGNER.

Quite an accomplishment by todays standard, a huge accomplishment in 1966...for readable copy see bottom of this page.

To give you a glimpse of the zeitgeist...here at the peak of the period, the year before we would meet the "Summer of Love"

That's "mixed" as in religions, not races or ages or same sex...

at the movies...Dr Zhivago, The Sound of Music, Thunderball, and Darling...which to choose!

Just in case you missed it, NEW, colour televison...

"SWINGING" in the rain, at Eatons,
